Sat Bains is the chef-patron of Restaurant Sat Bains, a two Michelin-starred restaurant in Nottingham, and Too many chiefs only one Indian is Sat's first cookbook.
Elizabeth on Food gives us her opinion.
"Too many chiefs" is a beautifully presented, linen-covered book that comes in a protective slipcase. The stunning design and its (almost) folio size might almost make you think that it is a coffee-table book - beautiful to behold but not actually intended to be read. Quite the opposite is true, however. "Too many chiefs only one Indian" is a spectacular book that vibrates with the passion and energy of its author. In the book Sat Bains mentions that at the time Marco Pierre White's book "White Heat" blew him away. Sat Bains' book did the same to me. Elizabeth on Food.
Too Many Chiefs Only One Indian is an autobiographical cookbook that follows the tasting menu format at Restaurant Sat Bains, featuring 68 in-depth recipes, demonstrating how research, development and creativity play a vital role in Sat's food pairings and flavour combinations.
